ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
JULY 21, 2020

The Annual Town Meeting will be held on July 21, 2020 at 6:30 pm at the Lockport Township Government Building, 1463 S. Farrell Road, Lockport, IL 60441.
PLEASE NOTE:
To adhere to the executive order from Governor Pritzer, there can only be 75 people in attendance and MASKS and SOCIAL DISTANCING are required to attend.More

2020 CENSUS

BEGINNING APRIL 1ST


The United State Census Bureau is recruiting for census takers, supervisors and office staff in your area currently.
 
The 2020 census is extremely important to your community because billions of dollars of federal aide is distributed to the cities and towns based on the responses provided in the census survey. Funding for schools, new roads, food pantries, job services, homeless shelters and head start programs are some of the things the census has a major impact on.
 
The jobs are important temporary excellent paying jobs that can be done by anyone 18 years or older, a senior, stay at home parents or even as a second job to supplement your income.
 
You can find out the pay rate for your county by going to 2020census.gov/jobs and locate pay rates in the information about the census. You simply enter your county and the hourly rate will be provided. 
 
Job qualifications
 
-18 years of age
-US Citizen
-Access to a car
-Access to a computer
-For males born after 1960 you need to have your selective service number when you apply. (This can be located on the website Sss.gov

EXEMPTION INFORMATION 

In accordance with Public Act 101-635, the Will County Supervisor of Assessments Office announces the following: All qualified 2019 exemptions will be renewed and 

processed for 2020

- There will be no 2020 renewal forms mailed. 

All recipients of Homestead Exemption for Persons with Disabili ties, Standard Homestead Exemption for Veterans with Disabili ties, and Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemp tion will be automatically renewed and processed without re application for levy year 2020. 

As a reminder, the 2020 exemption renewals are for the 2020 levy tax bill, which will be payable in 2021. All exemptions applied for the 2019 assessment year, are reflected on the current 2019 levy tax bill payable in 2020.

SENIOR TRANSPORT IS  HALTING SERVICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  SORRY FOR THE INCONVIENCE. 


Need a ride this season? Lockport Township Senior Transportation is available to take you to and from local health facilities as well as business and retail establishments. You will receive curb-to-curb service directly from your home to your destination. The cost to ride is $2 per round trip plus $1 per additional stops and must be age 55 and older. Yes, all shuttles are wheelchair accessible.More
