Residents can now bring recycled batteries to the Lockport Township Supervisor’s Office as part of Waste Management’s battery recycling program, Battery Tracker. The following types of dry-cell batteries are accepted: Alkaline (AA, AAA, C, D, 9 volt, & lantern) Carbon Zinc, NiCD, NiMH, Silver Oxide, and Mercury batteries. This includes button cell batteries (hearing aids, watches, etc.) and rechargeable batteries. Please note: lithium, lithium ion, lead acid, wet cell, and leaking batteries are not accepted.
To recycle your batteries, please bring them to the Lockport Township Supervisor’s Office, 1463 S. Farrell Rd 2nd Floor, during normal business hours. The ends of each battery must be taped or each battery must be placed in its own plastic sandwich bag to prevent short circuits and damage to container. RESIDENTS ONLY PLEASE!
